“TREN COUGH” is a side effect that can occur upon injecting Trenbolone. As the name indicates, it consists of strong, debilitating coughing that can last for up to 5 minutes. It may not be a dangerous side effect per se, but it can definitely decrease one’s quality of life and make Trenbolone use less enjoyable.
Studies have shown that Trenbolone can increase the expression of vasoconstrictive prostaglandins, which are a kind of lipid compound that can constrict airways and make it difficult for one to breathe properly.
This mechanism of action leads to Tren cough (it does not occur to every Tren user), but it is also responsible for the shortness of breath and subsequent lack of endurance that a lot of Tren users experience.
Tren Cough occurs when Trenbolone kicks in fast and causes a sudden increase in the activity of the aforementioned prostaglandins. For that reason, it almost only occurs with Trenbolone Acetate and Trenbolone Suspension, especially if they are suspended in MCT oil or synthetic oils which have a faster rate of absorption.
Opting for Trenbolone Enanthate or Trenbolone Hex can be a good way to prevent this side-effect (although there have been reports of tren cough occurring on these esters).
However, most Trenbolone users prefer the fast-acting nature of Tren Acetate, so what can you do if you insist on using that ester?
Well, one option is to inject it very slowly and take a couple of minutes to complete the shot. This will not prevent Tren cough entirely, but it may make it more manageable. Another option is to simply inject a smaller amount of Tren with each shot.
If nothing else works, you can also use a Salbutamol/Albuterol inhaler (Ventolin) and do two puffs before pinning, followed by two puffs after pinning. Ventolin has a vasodilating effect on the airways that will greatly diminish the intensity of the tren cough.
If you can’t get your hands on Ventolin inhalers, you can simply use oral Albuterol/Salbutamol at 2 to 4mg or even Clenbuterol at 20 to 40 mcg, and take it an hour before pinning to keep the airways open and mitigate the tren cough.
Some people claim that Cardarine at 20 mg/day can also help with Tren cough. I have yet to see solid evidence that it can help with that, but it can definitely help offset the lack of endurance that many Tren users experience.
